Robert D. Delaney, age 79, of Oronoque Village, Stratford, beloved husband of Katherine (Kay) L. Doyle Delaney, passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2010, in Masonicare at Newtown. Bob was born in Bridgeport, son of the late Everett W. and Ruth Crossley Delaney and was a former Easton resident. He was a graduate of Fairfield Prep 1948, Fairfield University 1952 and Boston College Law School 1955. Bob was a C.P.A. and retired owner of J. William Hope & Co. of Bridgeport and went on to establish R.D.D. Associates Financial Planners. He served on the board of directors of the Connecticut National Bank, St. Joseph's Manor and was trustee emeritus for Sacred Heart University, also founder and member of the Bridgeport Rifle Club and life member of the National Rifle Association. Bob loved the outdoors, hiking, fishing and spending time at the summer home in Benington, VT. He was predeceased by two brothers, Everett and J. Raymond Delaney. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Patrick W. Delaney and wife Barbara of Williston, VT, two grandsons, William and Benjamin Drinkwine and several nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 10:30am in Notre Dame of Easton Church. There will be no prior calling hours.
