Robert D. Houston, age 70, of Marlborough, CT, son of Robert and Arline Houston of Monroe, now deceased, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2012 at Middlesex Hospital, with his wife, Bernice, and sons, Christopher and Jonathan, at his side. Bob was born on August 10, 1942 in Bridgeport. He graduated from the University of New Haven Magna Cum Laude and the Southwestern School of Law in Los Angeles, California where he was a member of the Law Review and the Delta Theta Phi law fraternity. He was in practice since 1977 and began his legal career with the law firm of Meuser, Gentile and Biafore in Bridgeport and then with Perlmutter and Potash in Seymour and subsequently with Whitehead, Uskevich, Giacci and Houston also in Seymour. He has practiced in Marlborough for the last sixteen years. Bob is survived by his wife, Bernice, and his brother, Donald, and his wife Kathleen of Fairfield. He will also be remembered by his children Elizabeth Rice and her husband Stephen of Waterbury, Robert and his wife Lori of Simsbury, Catherine Lopez of Meriden, Christopher and his partner Danielle Moore of Manhattan, Jonathan and his wife Janelle of Danvers, Massachusetts; twelve grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; nieces Jennifer Houston, Mary Katherine Houston and her husband Justin D'Aloia; nephews Timothy Houston and Patrick Houston; and cousins Sally Bienkowski of Snoqualmie, WA and William Kinsman of Shelton. He is also survived by his brother in law Arthur Toothill and his wife Donna of Voluntown. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, November 2, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Pius X Church, 834 Brookside Drive, Fairfield. Interment will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Bob's memory to the American Cancer Society.
