Robert F. Miller, age 86 of Bridgeport, beloved husband of Doris Jahreis Miller, passed away, Wednesday, July 20, 2011, in St. Vincent's Medical Center. Robert was born in Bridgeport, son of the late Frank and Matilda Brochs Miller, and was an Army veteran of World War II, serving with the 24th evacuation hospital. He retired after 43 years as a prototype developer with the General Electric Company, and was a member of their Quarter Century Club. Robert was a lifelong member of the former St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Bridgeport, and served as property chairman and was involved with the Child Development Center. Survivors in addition to his wife Doris, include; a son Gary R. Miller of Naugatuck, a daughter Judith Borona and husband Paul of Shelton, a sister Frances DeLand of Shelton, three grandchildren Michael R. Miller, Stefanie Miller and Christopher Borona, one great grandson Anthony Murphy, one nephew and four nieces. He was predeceased by a sister Evelyn Timko. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:00a.m., from the Redgate – Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull and at 11:00a.m., in Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 160 Hill Farm Road, Fairfield CT 06824, with Pastor Mark Christoffersen, officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain Grove of Easton Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 4 to 8p.m.in the funeral home.
