Robert Peter "Pete" Schultz, age 88, of Trumbull, CT, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 8, 2024, in St. Vincent's Medical Center with his loving family by his side. Pete was born on April 2, 1936, to Robert and Ruth (Carstensen) Schultz of Bridgeport; he was the stepson of Patricia N. Schultz. His early childhood was spent in Bridgeport before he moved to Monroe where he attended Monroe Consolidated School, graduated from Bassick High School in Bridgeport, and attended Norwich University in Northfield, VT. He worked for the Bullard Company and E. P. Bullard Engineering Consultants before establishing his own homebuilding business. In 1958 he married his childhood sweetheart, Marilyn "Mimi" Fisher, and they were happily together for 71 years and 4 months before Mimi was called to rest. They raised their family in Trumbull, CT. Pete enjoyed basketball, golf, and time spent at their summer home on Lake Candlewood and later, a winter home in Venice, FL. He was known for his pinpoint memory, especially about his hometown Monroe, CT, and for his outstanding workmanship. Pete will be remembered with love by sons Jeffrey and his children Lauren, Erin, Jeffrey and Megan and their mother Kathleen, and great-grandson Luke, Todd and his daughter Amber and her mother Carole, and Craig and his wife Suzanne and their children Dylan and Sarah. He leaves several nieces and nephews. Pete was predeceased by his parents, his wife Marilyn, his brother Paul Schultz and nephew Derrick Schultz. The family would like to thank Ellen Acevedo for all of her help and support she provided to Marilyn and Pete over the past several years. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00a.m., meeting directly in Monroe Congregational Church, 34 Church Street, Monroe. Interment will follow in Monroe Center Cemetery.
