Robert J Simler Jr., age 51, passed away peacefully at home in Madison, Wisconsin on Sunday, June 6, 2010 surrounded by his loving family.  He battled cancer heroically for 3 years.  Robert served in the US Navy for six years and was employed by Thermo Fisher Scientific.  He is survived by his wife Kathy Janeczek Simler, his daughter Alexis Callahan and her husband Andrew of Galveston, TX, his parents Robert and Anne Simler of West Haven, CT, sisters Deborah Romano of West Haven, CT and Carolyn Palmer of Becket, MA and his beloved Jasmine, Ella, Max and Julian. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9:30 am. meeting directly in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 545 Stratfield Road, Fairfield, with a Mass of Christian Burial and Military Honors.
