Ronald E. Fitzsimons, age 85 of Trumbull passed away Thursday, November 3, 2022 in his home. Born in Bridgeport, he was the son of the late John and Irene Lavoie Fitzsimons. Ronald was a graduate of Bassick High School and a United States Army Veteran. He was a Retired Lieutenant of The Bridgeport Fire Department and a member of B.A.R.F. Ronald loved bowling and golf. Survivors include his two daughters, Charlotte Fitzsimons and Marlene Fitzsimons Ruiz, son Thomas Fitzsimons (Renee Cohen), sister Anna Mae Canell, five grandchildren, Anastasia Sperling (Schuyler), Veronica Ruiz (Sean), Michael, Jake and Alex Fitzsimons, two great granddaughters, Azalea and Izabella Sperling, and his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Ronald Jr, brothers and sister, Edward, Lorrene, and John Jr. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:15am from the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull and at 11:00am in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with Full Military Honors will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call Wednesday 4-8pm.
