Ruth Maureen O'Malley Farrell, age 79, passed away on April 2, 2007 after a long illness peacefully in her home. She was the daughter of John and Anne O'Malley. She was the widow of James Farrell, assistant chief of the Bridgeport Fire Department. Ruth grew up in the Black Rock section of Bridgeport. She was a graduate of Bassick High School, class of 1946. She was a former executive director of the March of Dimes, Fairfield County. Ruth also worked at Society Bank in Westport, Connecticut until her retirement. Ruth's joys were her family; she is survived by her two daughters, Linda Halliday and husband Jim of Manassas, Virginia and Maureen Hencsei and husband Stephen of Bridgeport, granddaughters Kelly Halliday, Kayla and Kristen Hencsei, grandson Andrew Halliday and one sister Jean McKenna of Bridgeport, nephews John Nelson, Donald Nelson and his wife Susan, Paul Nelson and Robert Herman and his wife Patricia, one niece Pat Doss and her husband Gregory and many cousins. She is also survived by her childhood and long-time friend Betty Lou Renehan. Ruth was predeceased by her sister Anne Herman. Ruth was 'mom' to many and will be greatly missed by all. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:00am in St. Andrew Church with the Liturgy of the Word. Interment will be private at the convenience of her family. Friends may call Thursday 4-8pm in the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull.
