Ruth Murphy Gill, age 97, of Trumbull, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2025. Ruth was born in North Attleboro, MA, the daughter of the late Frank and Florence Murphy. Ruth attended North Attleboro High School and graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a BS in Bacteriology. She continued her education at Dartmouth College with a degree in Medical Technology. Ruth retired as the Hematology Lab Manager at Park City Hospital in Bridgeport in 1990. She was the beloved wife of the late John F. Gill. Ruth is survived by her son John Gill, Jr. and wife Anne of Durham, CT, and daughters Ann Gill Lathrop of Hawthorne, CA, Mary-Beth Switzgable and husband Tom of Trumbull, and Sarah Ogle and husband Ed of Oxford. Ruth also had the joy of eight grandchildren Ryan, Katie, Philip, Emma, Tommy, Megan, Allison, Amy, and four great grandchildren Alex, Theodore, Eleanore, Lily. In addition to her husband and parents, Ruth was predeceased by her son-in-law, Bill Lathrop. Ruth was a devout Catholic who deeply loved her family. Ruth enjoyed arts and crafts as a hobby and loved to prepare creative and delicious Holiday meals and treats for the entire Gill clan.  Ruthie will be sadly missed by all including her wonderful caregivers at Bridges in Trumbull.  Services and burial will be private and handled by Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Directors of Trumbull.
