Obituary

Salvador Otero passed away peacefully at home on April 25, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Sal was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his children Flor, Carlos, Michael and his wife Mary. He also leaves behind six adoring grandchildren—Michael, Julia, Sophia, Charlie, Sal, and Tony—and several great-grandchildren who will proudly carry forward his spirit and stories.

Born on March 7, 1940, in Ciales, Puerto Rico, Sal brought his strength and determination with him when he made Bridgeport, Connecticut his home in 1960. There, he built a life rooted in hard work and love. From his early days in a scissor factory to his many years as a dedicated maintainer at Fairfield University, Sal took pride in providing for his family. In his later years, he settled in Sebring, Florida, where he soaked up the sunshine and enjoyed the slower pace of life he had truly earned.

Sal will be remembered for his quick wit, playful sense of humor, and generous heart. He had a special way of making people smile—whether through a joke, a story, or simply his presence. More than anything, he made those around him feel loved. His legacy lives on in the laughter he shared, the lessons he taught, and the deep Otero family pride that will continue for generations.
