Shaun Murray Brennan , age 54 of Fairfield, formerly of Bridgeport, CT, died peacefully on Friday, November 26, 2010 at Carolton Convalescent Hospital. Born on April 28, 1956, Shaun was the special son of the late Robert and Roselyn Brennan. A long time resident of Bridgeport until moving to Fairfield 11 years ago. Shaun attended the Bridgeport Public School System and was a consumer of the Kennedy Center for over 35 years, working in various programs and was the recipient of the Consumer of the Year Award. In his later years he was the first person accepted into the newly established Kennedy Center program for Down Sydrome adults with Alzheimer's. Shaun loved bowling with the Kennedy Center and the Gaelic American Club. He participated in Special Olympics, was an avid fan of the Fairfield University Baseball team and the Men's and Women's basketball teams, having served as the "assistant manager" of the Women's team. Fondly loved by all he met, Shaun left each and everyone with a lasting memory. His personality and sense of humor were infectious and earned him many, many friends. Always by his father's side, Shaun was ever present in the community. Shaun is survived by his brothers and sister and their spouses, Robert J. Brennan, Jr. (Alyson) of Fairfield, Thomas M. Brennan (Dale) of Fairfield, Dan Brennan (Charlene) of Trumbull, Mary Ellen Brennan-Connelly (Chris) of Southport. He is also survived by 19 nieces and nephews, Katie O'Leary, Robert J. Brennan, III, Kimberly Brennan Tyler, Meghan Chiota, Maura Carey, Thomas Brennan, Jodie Delach, Michael Brennan, Danielle Bartlett, Ryan Charles Brennan, Kelly Lovegrove, Daniel, Shannon, Casey, Tara and Molly Brennan, Shaun, Devin and Ian Connelly and 12 Grandnieces and Grandnephews, and his beloved Godmother, Marion Donegan. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:00am meeting directly in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 149 South Pine Creek Road, Fairfield with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call Tuesday 3-8pm in the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull.
