Stephen Frank Sliva, age 90, a lifelong Trumbull resident, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side, on Thursday, December 29, 2011. A beloved husband and father, he is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Barbara Boyhan Sliva. Born in Trumbull on December 17, 1921, he was the son of the late Peter and Katherine Paciorek Sliva. Stephen was a graduate of Bassick High School, Bridgeport; he served in the United States Army Air Corps 119th, 987th and 1192nd Military Police during World War II. He was a retired member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 488. In addition to his beloved wife, survivors include his devoted children, Patricia Shoemaker and husband Mark of Guilford, Brian Sliva and wife Kim of Stratford, and Jean Siconolfi and husband Michael of Fairfield; cherished grandchildren, Ryan Sliva of Los Angeles CA, Meaghan Sliva of Stratford, Sarah, Christopher, and Kathleen Siconolfi of Fairfield, and Riley Shoemaker of Guilford; brothers and sisters, Stanley, Mary, Peter, Charles, and Cecelia Sliva, Carol Tilt, all of Trumbull and Dorothy Smith of Chicago, IL; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, John, Joseph and Frank Sliva and sister, Frances Galanek. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 am, at Christ the King Church, 4700 Madison Avenue, Trumbull, with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private at Nichols Farm Burial Grounds.
