Suntha Aurigemma O'Neill, age 93 of Trumbull, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2011 in St. Vincent's Medical Center. Suntha was born in Bridgeport, daughter of the late James and Lillian Aurigemma, and a graduate of Warren Harding High School, class of 1935. She was a Trumbull resident for over fifty years, and retired as office manager for the Chestnut Hill Bus Company. Suntha formerly worked for General Electric Company, and was an assistant for Dr. Arnold Portnoy, Podiatrist. After her retirement she worked part-time with the Trumbull Recreation Department, an active member and enjoyed swimming at the former Italian Community Center. Suntha was a member and involved with the Trumbull Seniors and the Democratic Women's League, and enjoyed playing golf and bridge. She was a devote communicant at St. Theresa Church, and was member of the St. Theresa Confraternity. Survivors include a son Thomas J. O'Neill and wife Nurys of Trumbull, a sister Katherine Matyas of Trumbull, a daughter-in-law Barbara O'Neill of Newtown, five grandchildren Edward J. O'Neill Jr., and wife Shari, Kevin O'Neill and wife Betsy, Roxanne O'Neill, Thomas J. O'Neill Jr. and wife Adriana, and Ryan O'Neill, five great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Suntha was predeceased by her devoted companion Charles W. Matyas, two sons Edward J. O'Neill, and Barry K. O'Neill, a grandson Brian O'Neill, and four brothers John, James, Anthony, and Pasquale Aurigemma. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00a.m., meeting directly in St. Theresa Church, with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Long Hill Burial Grounds. There will be no calling hours.
