Susan Johnston Brunt, age 72 of Trumbull, beloved wife of W. John (Jack) Brunt, passed away, Tuesday, April 19, 2011 in St. Vincent's Medical Center. Sue was born in Utica, NY, daughter of the late Arthur F. and Ruth Valentine Johnston. Survivors in addition to her husband Jack include two daughters, Stacie Quilty and husband Kevin of Hingham, MA and Kristen S. Smith and fiancé Christopher Chisarik of Monroe, a sister, Debbie Bailly and husband Scott of Belfast, ME, two grandchildren, Jake William and Emma Rose Quilty, as well as many grand animals. Sue was a loving wife and mother and a caring friend to those who knew her.  She loved singing in the church choir, spending time with her friends and family and playing golf and bridge.  She volunteered within her community working with the public schools, her church, Meals on Wheels and FISH.  She was also a strong advocate for stray animals and animal rights groups.  Sue was a wonderful grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her grandkids.  Thank you to the staff at St Vincent's Hospital for the care they gave Sue over the last several months.  Thank you also for all of the love and support from our friends at Long Hill United Methodist Church.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 1100a.m. in the Long Hill United Methodist Church, 6358 Main Street, Trumbull, with the Reverend Austin Park, pastor, officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
