Obituary

Susan Rose (Beresky) Drzal, 94, of Trumbull, died peacefully in her home surrounded by family and friends.

Born in Fairfield to Michael & Susan (Marinko) Beresky, she was the 7th of 9 children and acted as the protector of her younger siblings Alice & Johnny.  She spent most of her adult life living in Bridgeport with her husband Frank raising their 3 children, Denise, Frank & David.

Susan attended Roger Ludlowe HS before a lifelong career in retail @ Wolworth's followed by H.L. Green, Lerners, Columbia Records, Gimbels, Reads and  Howlands & Steinbech.

She loved to dance, going every week with Frank to the White Eagle's Club in Bpt and Knight's of Columbus in Milford to polka the night away. They met while dancing at the Polka Dot Playhouse at Pleasure Beach. They were married for 40 yrs until his death in 1994.

Affectionately known in the West End of Bpt as the"Tag Sale Lady", the family would go tag sale-ing every Saturday so she could buy items that she would try to "flip" at her own.

Susan had many, many interests & an active social life rivaled by none - no one could keep up with her!

She loved bowling and routinely topped the leader board while leading her team to many championships.

She enjoyed attending the Bpt & Milford Jai Alai's, was active on the "Church Bingo circuit", took bus trips regularly to the casinos as well as adventures with the Bridgeport, Stratford, Monroe, Easton, Fairfield & Trumbull Seniors.  She loved her luncheons and excursions with the Black Rock Congregational church in Fairfield as well as those with the Red Hat Society.

her and her fellow seniors traveled all over Ct to play Bells for the enjoyment of others.

She never said no to going out anywhere with family or friends, wanting to stay out "just a little longer"  - this (and her garlic) were her recipe for longevity remaining healthy and independent until the end.

She is predeceased by her parents, all 8 of her brother & sisters, her husband and daughter.  Survivors include her 2 sons, 5 grandchildren; Michael, Daniel, Kathryn, Frankie & Mat and a special "shout out" to her niece Lorrie Silber and family friend Lisa Landone for all their help during Mom's final years.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00a.m., meeting directly in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 163 Ortega Avenue, Bridgeport with a Mass of Christian Burial.
