Obituary

Susan Karen Farrell Vasone, 66, of Newtown, CT, beloved mom, daughter, sister and grandmother (“Nana”), passed away on October 16, 2026.

She is survived by her daughter Victoria Rose Vasone and her fiancé Kevin McCaughey of Plantsville; her son John Nicholas Vasone and his wife Rachel of Fairfield; her fiancé Brian Nadro of Newtown; her mother Marianne Farrell of Westport; her sister Kathryn Farrell and her husband Kevin Hall of Newtown; her brother Mark “Sparky” Farrell of Westport; her nieces and nephews Kaitlyn Mawicke, Samantha and her husband Devone Thomas, and Jason and his wife Lizzie Mawicke; and her grandchildren Charlotte, Connor, Payton, Casey and Jack.

Susan was born in Chicago, IL, grew up in Westport, CT and graduated from Staples High School in 1978. She married John Vasone in 1987, and they eventually settled in Trumbull, CT where they raised their two children together. Most recently, she resided in Newtown, CT with her partner, Brian Nadro. She enjoyed gardening, listening to country music while spending time by the pool, and reading. She worked for many years in the greenhouse at Benedict’s, where she was well known by her regular customers, and for the past decade, she owned and operated her own spice business. She cared greatly for her family, friends, and pets over the years, especially Darcy “Louisiana” Puppypaws. She was a wonderful mom and a very loving “Nana” to her grandchildren. She was a devoted parishioner of Christ Church in Trumbull. As anyone who knew her knows, she was incredibly kind and compassionate and would do anything for those she loved.

Friends are invited to greet the family on Tuesday, October 27, from 4:00p.m. to 7:00p.m., in the Redgate - Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and 4 Gorham Place, Trumbull. A Mass service will be held Wednesday, October 28 at 11: 00a.m, meeting directly in Christ Episcopal Church, 5170 Madison Avenue, Trumbull, CT 06611, a lunch reception to follow at the Church.
