Thomas Martin Doyle, Jr. died on September 11, 2023 after a brief illness. He was 77.  Born to Winifred McGuinness Doyle and Thomas M. Doyle on July 25, 1946, Tom was raised in Bridgeport and attended St. Augustine's School and Fairfield Prep. He served in the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve from 1964-1970. Tom studied at Georgetown University and received his undergraduate degree from the George Meany Center for Labor Studies/Antioch College.  A civil rights and labor activist, Tom spent decades as a fierce advocate for workers as a labor organizer with the New England Health Care Employees Union, District 1199, SEIU.  While with 1199, Tom attended and received his J.D. from the University of Connecticut Law School and was admitted to the Connecticut State Bar. In later years, Tom pursued his lifelong love of Irish music playing the bodhran, the traditional Irish drum, in Connecticut and New York. For the past 43 years, Tom has been an active member of AA.  Tom is survived by his siblings and their spouses: Kevin Doyle and Pearl Granat, Mary Ann Doyle and Steven Froot, Michael McGuinness Doyle and Aileen Doyle, as well as his many loving and much beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:00am from the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull and at 11:00am in St. Augustine's Cathedral, Bridgeport with a Mass of Christian Burial.
