Thomas J. Dunn, age 86 of Trumbull and formerly Fairfield passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013 in his home surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Justine M. Hope Dunn for 58 years. Born in the Bronx, N.Y. he was the son of the late John L. and Mary Alexander Dunn. Mr. Dunn was a graduate of Mamaroneck High School and served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from M.I.T. He pursued a career in the fossil fuel and nuclear power industry. He later joined Fairfield County Real Estate Agency as a realtor following his retirement in 1991.Mr. Dunn's many professional organizations and societies include being a Licensed Professional Engineer in CT, MA, NY, and OH, a lifetime member of American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Board of Directors of the Engineers Club of New York City, American Nuclear Society, Newcomen Society, National and CT Assoc. of Realtors, Greater Fairfield Board of Realtors. He also belonged to the Larchmont Yacht Club, M.I.T. Club of New York, Engineer's and Chemist's Clubs of New York, Brooklawn Country Club, The Patterson Club, American Legion, the Gaelic American Club and was a Communicant of Holy Family Church, Fairfield and St. Stephen's Church, Trumbull. In addition to his wife Justine he is survived by his children, Thomas J. Dunn Jr. of Newington, J. William Dunn of Darien, Justine D. Hahn of Trumbull, brother John L. Dunn, M.D. of Thetford, VT, five grandchildren and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his eldest daughter Rosemary Hope Dunn. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:00am meeting directly in St. Stephen's Church, 6948 Main Street, Trumbull with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call Wednesday 4-8pm in the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull.
