Thomas F. Norton, age 87, of Woodbridge, beloved husband of Elizabeth Stary Norton, passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2010, at Bridgeport Hospital. Thomas was born in Bridgeport, son of the late Frank and Ina McKendrick Norton.  President and owner of the Maynor Tool & Cutter Company, Milford, he also operated businesses in Chile, Venezuela and Columbia, South America. Thomas was a member of the Carbide Society of Connecticut, serving as president three terms, the Stratford United Methodist Church and more recently the Mary Taylor United Methodist Church of Milford where he was quite active. He was also a member of the Rotary Club of Devon and an Army – Air Corp veteran of World War II. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Richard S. Norton and wife Nancy of LasCruz, New Mexico, three sisters, Helen Larkin and husband Robert of Fairfield, Nora Grillo of Stratford and Claire Jelenik and husband Alex of Shelton; also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00am in the Redgate – Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull, with the Rev. Meg Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call Monday morning after 10:00am.
