Trudy Fox Gromiller, age 77, of Easton died peacefully on Sunday, January 9, 2011 after a long illness. One of seven sisters, Trudy was born June 13, 1933, to Frank and Susan Gavigan Fox, who had emigrated from Ireland. Prior to her marriage in February 1957, she was employed at Children's Hospital, Boston, MA by the Chair of the American Board of Surgery. She is survived by her husband, James W. Gromiller, and her four children, James P. Gromiller and wife Maureen S. of Hollidaysburg, PA, Nancy G. Newhams and husband Thomas H. of Chesapeake, VA, Andrew B. Gromiller and wife Christine Z. of McAllister, MT, and Matthew J. Gromiller of Easton, ten grandchildren, Jacob L., Aaron F., Lewis A., Zion I., Sachem C., Apollo I., Isaac F., and Tyrone W. Gromiller, and Kevin T. and Margaret M. Newhams, two sisters, Claire F. Sloan of Ridgefield, and Sister Teresa of Avila, who was accepted into the Missionaries of Charity by Mother Teresa. Trudy was predeceased by her sisters, Mary T. Fox, Margaret F. Buckley, Ann F. Buckley, and Susan F. Glennon. During their marriage the Gromillers resided at Erie, PA (twice), Rotterdam, NY, Woodcliff Lake, NJ, and Danville, IL, before relocating to Easton. The family would like to thank Vitas Hospice for the compassionate care. Funeral services will be held Saturday at11:00am meeting directly in Notre Dame of Easton Church, 655 Morehouse Road, Easton, with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in the Gromiller family plot at Green Lawn Cemetery, Hollidaysburg, PA at the convenience of the family.
