Obituary

Vincent "Jim" Carmine Curcuruto, passed away on April 11 one week before his 97th birthday at LudloweCenter for Health and Rehabilitation in Fairfield, CT. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Yolanda (Sposito) and their three children, James Curcurutoand wife, Linda of Newtown, Ct., Robert and wife, Linda of Easton Ct. and William (predeceased). He also leaves behind six grandchildren (one deceased),seven great grandchildren (plus one on the way) and several nieces and nephews.

Jim was born to Caroline and Rosario Curcuruto in1923 in New York City. He is predeceased by his brothers John and Paul. He graduated from Stuyvesant High School in Manhattan. Jim served in the U.S. Army in Europe during WW ll with the 318thInfantry, 80th Division (Patton's Troubleshooters). He was awarded the purple heart and the Combat Infantryman's Badge. After returning home, Jim became a member of the NYPD and retired as a Sergeant after 21 years of service.

He and his wife were long time residents of Commack, Long Island before moving to an assisted living facility in Trumbull, Ct. in 2015.

Jim was an avid baseball fan and loved watching the NY Yankees. He had fond memories of vacationing at the Jersey Shore and the Catskills with family and friends each year.

The family wishes to extend its appreciation to Spring Meadows Assisted Living Facility and Home Instead Senior Care for the support and care they provided during the past few years.

A private burial will be held at Pinelawn National Cemetery on Long Island.  A memorial service will be held at a future date due to current restrictions on gatherings.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting thatdonations be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (themmrf.org).
