Obituary

Virginia Campanaro Iancale, age 97 of Easton, beloved wife of the late Joseph R. Iancale, passed away Saturday, May 20, 2017 in Masonicare Health Center, Wallingford. Virginia was born in Castellucio Valmagiore, Foggia, Italy, daughter of the late John and Mary Festa Campanaro and was an Easton resident for almost sixty years. She came to this country at the age of 17 with her sister, Josephine, and her mother with dual Italian and American citizenship.  Arriving on the 16th of March, 1936, they joined her father and brother, Dominick, who were already established in their new country.  Virginia is survived by her son, Joseph R. Iancale, Jr., a sister-in-law, Carol Panzetti Campanaro, three nieces, five grandnieces, a grandnephew, four great grandnephews and one great grandniece.  Her brothers Dominick and Anthony Campanaro, sister, Josephine Tomaiuolo and nephew Robert Campanaro predeceased her.  She will be remembered for her love of cooking and care of her home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00a.m., meeting directly in Notre Dame of Easton Church, 640 Morehouse Road, Easton, with a Mass of Christian Burial.
