Virginia Catherine Barske (née Recktenwald) passed away quietly on October 14 2026 in Southwick, MA. She was born in Bridgeport, CT and grew up in Trumbull, CT. She attended Bassick High School and graduated in 1953. She went on to proudly serve her country in the USAF after which she got married to John F. Recktenwald and had 4 children. She worked for years at SNETCO as a telephone operator and a companion health aid until retirement.

She was predeceased by her parents Francis A. Barske and Ann E. Barske. Two sons, John F. Recktenwald and Thomas E. Recktenwald. Three sisters, Ruthann Veness, Joan Himes and Janet Thwaits.

She is survived by two daughters, Annmarie Reagan, Mary Grasso and her husband Michael Stevens. Nieces - Laura Tarsi and her husband Ray Tarsi, Tisha Edwards and her husband Brian Edwards, Catherine Vowell. She also leaves behind 4 grandsons and 7 great grandchildren.

Those who knew her would agree this is how she lived. She will be buried at St. Michael's Cemetery in Stratford, CT on Monday October 19th at 11:00am.
