Virginia Phyllis Skigen age 71 of Monroe passed away Sunday, December 2, 2012 at Bridgeport Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Melvin Skigen. Born in Stamford she was the daughter of David P. and Virginia Jewel Kallmann. Phyllis was an artist. She enjoyed crafts, painting, drawing, and was the author of children's religious books. She played piano and often donated her art to Maefair Health Care and other organizations. She was an active member of Trumbull Church of Christ, Bible Class and the Senior Center. Phyllis loved everybody and was loved and respected by all who knew her. In addition to her husband she is survived by her loving daughter, Lisa Elaine Santiana of Monroe, and four devoted grandsons, Joshua, Noah, Jonah and Zachary Santiana. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10am meeting directly in Trumbull Church of Christ, 2 Drew Circle, Trumbull. Interment will follow in Long Ridge Union Cemetery, Stamford. Friends may call Wednesday 4-8pm in the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull.
