Waclaw "Walter" Szurek age 83 of Fairfield passed away Friday May 8, 2009 in his home. Born in Poland he was the beloved husband of the late Valentina Kodziszewska Szurek. Mr. Szurek was employed at The Bullard Company for 17 years and later was a self employed floor mechanic. He will be remembered for his love of family, gardening, politics, history and the weather. He always had a special place in his heart for animals and pets especially his cats, Maxwell and Muffin. Survivors include his daughter Jennifer Szurek, son Edward Szurek, granddaughter Angela Cuozzo and her husband Armand, grandson Paul Lee and his wife Tamara, and his great grandchildren Steven and Amanda Lee. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:00am in the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull. Interment will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield.
