Ward N. Colbree, age 83 of Bridgeport, beloved husband of Lorraine A. Labonda Colbree, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2016 in his home. He was born in Bridgeport, son of the late Nathaniel and Alice Ward Colbree, and was a United States Air Force Veteran serving in the Korean War. Ward retired from the Bridgeport Police Department in 1986 after twenty-seven years of service, and went on to be a 911 dispatcher for the Town of Weston for twenty years. He was a life member of VFW Post 9460, Stratford, and the Bridgeport Elks Lodge #36. Survivors in addition to his beloved wife Lorraine include his devoted children, Diane M. Cassella and husband Louis of Milford, Brian S. Colbree of Layton, UT, and David S. Colbree and wife Jacquelyn of Stratford, four cherished grandchildren Erik Cassella and fiancée Victoria, Tracy Cassella, Sean Colbree, and KatieAnn Colbree, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter Deborah A. Colbree, a daughter-in-law DeeAnn Colbree, and a grandchild Keegan Colbree. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00a.m., in the Redgate – Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull. Interment with full military honors will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport. Friends may call Tuesday from 4:00p.m. to 7:00p.m., in the funeral home.
