Obituary

William Charles Callan, 85, of Monroe, beloved husband of the late Candace Russell (Chamberlain) Callan passed away peacefully on Monday, June 2, 2025. Born in Bridgeport on December 19, 1939, he was the son of the late Harold and Anne Callan. Bill was a graduate of Bullard-Havens Technical School and served in the United States Air Force. He worked at Alloy Engineering as a Chief Inspector until retirement. Bill's favorite activities included attending his grandchildren's sporting events, as well as being an avid UConn Huskies Basketball fan. He was a member of the Monroe and Bridgeport Historical Society, Connecticut Post Card Club and Harbor Valley Yacht Club. Bill was predeceased by his daughter Kyle Ushka of Southbury and his brother Harold Callan. He will be forever missed by his daughter Corley Fleming of Cheshire, brother Thomas Callan of San Diego, sisters-in-law Cherie Swetts (Tom) and Cindie Beauchamp, grandchildren Michael, Rachael, Callan and Molly, along with many nieces and nephews. A special thank you to everyone at St. Vincent's Hospital and Masonicare for their extra care. A service of Christian Burial Interment will be private.
