William M. Sharp age 99 of Trumbull died Friday, September 23, 2011 at St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport. He was the beloved husband of the late Marguerite A. Gerrity Sharp. Born in Aberdeen, Scotland, Mr. Sharp was a retired accountant employed by Dictaphone and a U.S. Army Veteran serving during World War II. He was director of civil defense in Trumbull and a member of the Police Auxiliary. A talented artist focusing on pastel portraits he was a member of the Connecticut Classic Artists, the Poetry Club, and the Cactus and Gesneriad Society. He also taught adult education astrology at Housatonic Community College. Survivors include his loving daughters, Ness Roberts and her husband Jim, and Suzanne Bentz, grandson Erich Bentz and his wife Theresa, great grandchildren, Lara and Axel Bentz of Vienna, Austria, and his nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his brother, Gordon Sharp. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00am in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 661 Old Post Road, Fairfield. Interment will follow in St. Paul's Memorial Garden. Friends may call Sunday 2-5pm in the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull.
