William T. Morrissey, age 92, beloved husband of Mildred F. Mitchell Morrissey and a lifelong Bridgeport resident died Monday, October 28, 2013 at St. Vincent's Medical Center. He was a Bridgeport Police Lieutenant retiring in 1976 after 30 years of service. Mr. Morrissey was a Veteran of World War II serving in the U. S. Army, Past Secretary for Police Local 1159, a member of the Patrolman's Association and the Retired Firemen and Policemen Association. In addition to his wife, Mildred, he is survived by his daughters, Noreen Morrissey of Lordship, Maryellen Ericson and husband Peter of Bridgeport, a sister Eileen Morrissey of Stratford, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters Evelyn McNamara and Josephine Smith, and son-in-law Stan Bean. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30am in St. Andrew Church, 435 Anton Street, Bridgeport with a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in the St. Michael's Cemetery Garden Mausoleum, Stratford. Friends may call Wednesday morning 9:00 – 10:00am in the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull.
