Yolanda A. Curcuruto, passed away on April 18, 2020 at Ludlowe Center for Health and Rehabilitation in Fairfield, Connecticut one week after her beloved husband of 71 years Jim, passed away at the same facility. Yolanda is survived by her two sons, James Curcuruto and wife Linda of Newtown, Connecticut, Robert and wife Linda of Easton, Connecticut and is predeceased by her son William. She will be greatly missed by her six grandchildren (one deceased), seven great grandchildren (plus one on the way) and several nieces and nephews. Yolanda was born to Victor and Carmela Sposito in 1929 in New York City. She Is predeceased by her brother George and his wife Lee of Darien, Connecticut. Yolanda graduated from Washington Irving High School in Manhattan. Shortly thereafter, she married Jim and moved to the Bronx where they began raising three children before moving to Commack, Long Island. In 2015, they moved to an assisted living facility in Trumbull, Connecticut. Yolanda always enjoyed getting together with family and friends who were attracted to her pleasant and easygoing personality. She enjoyed reading, cooking Italian food, crocheting, baking her famous babka and watching classic movies. She was an avid Yankee fan and would keep track of their wins and losses on her calendar. Yolanda loved to spend time with her grandchildren and enjoyed making each of them a handmade Christmas stocking with their names crocheted on them. She also worked outside the home holding several positions including department manager specializing in wallpaper and paints. The family wishes to extend its appreciation to Spring Meadows Assisted Living and Home Instead Senior Care for the support and care they provided over the past several years. A private burial will be held at Pinelawn National Cemetery on Long Island. A memorial service will be held at a future date due to current restrictions on gatherings. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (themmrf.org).
