Anna Sirok Pankracij

July 26, 1924 ~ October 22, 2018 (age 94)

Anna Sirok Pankracij, of Bridgeport passed away Monday, October 22, 2018. Born July 26, 1924 in Grgar Nova Gorica, Slovenia, she was the daughter of the late Jozef and Maria Budin Sirok. Anna came to this country in December of 1951. An Auschwitz concentration camp survivor of World War II, she was a talented artist, seamstress, cook, avid gardener and reader who spoke five languages and loved nature, children and animals. A devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she was proud of her family and loved any chance to spend time with them. Anna was a long-time parishioner of Holy Cross Church in Fairfield. Predeceased by her husband Victor, her parents and six brothers, she is survived by her son William A. Pankracij (Karen) of Trumbull, daughters, Sabina Wilson (George) of Bridgeport and Mary Ann Mastri (Dominick) of Bridgeport; sister Branka Hrovatin of Kranj, Slovenia; grandchildren Vanessa Rosado (Jesus) of Bridgeport, Stephanie Mastri of Bridgeport, Matthew J. Pankracij of Stamford, Christopher R. Pankracij of Trumbull, great grandchildren Alyssa and Arianna Rosado of Bridgeport. The family thanks the Carolton employees with a special heartfelt thanks to Ammie. Friends may call Friday, October 26 at 10:00am -1:00pm at the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull with a prayer service beginning at 12:15pm.
