Last night, Audrey (Mrs. B.) appeared to me in such a vivid dream that I had to google her after not hearing from her for so many years. Now I know why ...
I'm a former exchange student who the Barnett family took in for a school year in 1988/89. She was the best "substitute" mother anyone could imagine and I loved her dearly. I admired her for her knowledge, her openness and her patience. She inspired me with all her diverse interests to become a teacher myself. I still cherish fond memories of my stay with the Barnett family and send my love and late condolences to her children.

I am sorry to hear about the passing of Audrey. We used watercolor paint together with some of her other friends from the First Presbyterian Church in Southold, N.Y. We miss her sense of humor.

We were saddened to read of Audrey's passing. We had enjoyed some pleasant times and conversations with she and Bill over the years, and with the links to Aunt Betty and Uncle Lou in the Southold home.
Best wishes to the family.
