Carolyn Cipriani, age 80, beloved wife of Ralph A. Cipriani, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023. Carolyn was born in the Bronx, NY, daughter of the late Francis and Faye Vetere Bruno.
Early in their marriage, Carolyn loved to travel with Ralph, whose position in the FBI required them to move often including New York, Illinois, Kansas, and California. She worked in retail before she got married and as a bookkeeper later in life. They also spent several cherished years in retirement in Dunedin Beach, Florida before they moved to Connecticut to be closer to their family.
Carolyn was an extremely faithful and devoted Catholic. She loved the opera, old movies, musicals, cooking shows, and NCIS. She was an outstanding cook, hostess, caretaker, and home maker. Friends and family describe her as fiercely loyal, protective of her loved ones, generous, and kind.
Carolyn is survived by her three devoted sons: Michael and wife, Deborah, John and wife, Jennifer, and the Reverend Peter Cipriani. She also has her cherished grandchildren: Nicole (Al), Ronni (Hunter), Anthony, Nicolas, Monica (Andre), Alexa (Carmine), Vincent and Vanessa, as well as four great grandchildren: Luca, Thea, Elara, and Elle. Additionally, she leaves behind her cousin and best friend, Bobbi Vetere, and her favorite canine companion, Piccolo.
Friends may greet the family in Carolyn’s honor on Monday, April 3, from 3:00p.m. to 7:00p.m., in the Redgate – Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and 4 Gorham Place, Trumbull. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 4, at 10:00 a.m., meeting directly in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 545 Stratfield Road, Fairfield, for both Carolyn and Ralph with a Mass of Christian Burial, celebrated by their son, Rev. Peter Cipriani. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.
