Charles E. Ripka, III

Charles E. Ripka, III, age 88 of Bridgeport passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Apple Rehab in Shelton on May 4, 2018. Born in Chester PA. he was predeceased by his beloved wife Marion. He leaves a brother Ron Ripka and wife Peggy of Kenneth Square, PA, and a sister Valerie Jardine and husband Karl of Keedysville, MD. In addition, he also leaves his children Wayne and wife Karen of Bridgeport, Charles Ripka, IV and wife Janet of Stratford, Sandra Ciambriello and husband Frank of Trumbull and Jon of Stratford, grandchildren Charles Ripka, V, Adam Ripka and his wife Katrina, Justin Ripka, Frank Ciambriello, Anthony Ciambriello and a great grandson Jonah Ripka. Charles worked as a tv, radio and appliance repairman in his grandfather’s store in Chester, PA. He also was an electro-mechanical- technician for Heppenstall steel forging company.  He eventually went into management at several companies.  He was a great salesman, loved to work, and left retirement to work as an assistant sales manager at Woodworkers Warehouse and a supervisor for the census. His hobbies included woodworking, radio repair, listening and singing along to music, programing computers, and repairing small appliances.  He always said there is no such word as can’t and this was a motto for his life. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 am in the Redgate – Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull. Interment with full military honors will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Friends may call Tuesday morning from 10:00 am until service time.
