Dolores M. DeLuca

Dolores M. DeLuca, age 91, of Bridgeport, devout Catholic and beloved wife of the late Chris M. De Luca, was taken by the angels peacefully, Tuesday, March 6, 2018, while praying the rosary in her home.  Dolores was born in Charleston, SC, daughter of Walter and Gertrude Cooper Melfi.  She retired as the manager of the Out Patient Care Clinic for Bridgeport Hospital. Dolores was a member and past president of the Madonna Rosary Confraternity at St. Ambrose Parish. She leaves five loving children, Chris, Ann Marie, Dolores,  Michael and wife Robin DeLuca and Laura Falco and husband Kenny, beloved friends Linda Demanchyk and George Batza, two sisters, Rosemarie Cantey and Mae Frances Holmes, six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her brother, Walter Melfi and sister Maree Kahn. Nothing was more important to our mother than going to Mass and saying the rosary. It was her wish that friends greet our family in Church. The greeting will be held from 10:00a.m. – 11:00a.m. in St. Andrew Church, 435 Anton Street, Bridgeport, followed with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00a.m.  Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery.  To send online condolences please visit www.redgatehennessy.com
