Doris M. Norris

Doris M. Kennedy Norris of Trumbull passed away Friday, March 16, 2018 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Bridgeport after a short illness. She was the daughter of William and Jean Kennedy and born in Chicago, Illinois. She was predeceased by her loving husband Patrick B. Norris, her son Timothy P. Norris, and her sister, Mary Farina. Doris will be remembered as “Mom” by her children; Susan (Ronald) Kanuch, Richard (Julie) Norris, Thomas (Lynn) Norris, Doreen E. (Peter) Wheeler, Brian (Michele) Norris, John (Brenda) Norris, and daughter-in-law, Eve Norris. Her sixteen grandchildren will remember her as “Grammie, Gramee, and Grammy”: Christine and Robert (Trina) Kanuch, Laura Norris and her mother, Maureen Kearney Norris, Erin (Robert), Matthew (Jen), Sean and Christopher Norris, Kevin and Peter Wheeler, Emily Norris, Megan (Helon) Hoffer, Kate (Scott) Linzmeyer, Kelly and Rebecca Norris, Hillary and Jarod Norris. She leaves seven great-grandchildren, Connor Yorski, Isabel, Olivia, Mackenzie Kanuch, Alden and Lucy Hoffer, Calais Linzmeyer. Doris was proud of her thirty years of service at F.W. Woolworths in the Trumbull Mall. Nothing meant more to her than time spent with family. She looked forward to family gatherings, big and small. The annual family picnic was always special. She loved watching women’s UCONN basketball, playing bingo, going to the casino and shopping. Doris always enjoyed playing LRC with her friends over coffee and pastries. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30am meeting directly in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main Street, Trumbull with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Long Hill Burial Grounds.
