Doris O. Palmer, 83, of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2019 with her loving family by her side in St. Vincent's Hospital. Doris Marion Ober was born on May 10, 1935 in Bridgeport. She was the daughter of the late George Everett and Anna (Klemm) Ober. Brought up in Fairfield CT, she graduated from Central High School, attended classes at University of Bridgeport, and was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church. Doris was a person of strength and resilience, creativity and imagination, who loved nature, her family and neighbors. She enjoyed swimming at Jennings Beach, raising her sons, fishing and boating with family at Candlewood Lake, watching birds in her yard, and sharing the latest news about her grandchildren with the rest of the family. Doris was predeceased by her husband Frank Palmer and sister Natalie DeDonado. Survivors include her sons Mark, Gary, Alan, her brother Wiliam Ober, his wife Judy, their children Scott, Kimberly, and Gregg Ober, Linda Orick of Mobile Alabama, grandchildren Krista, Katie, Emily, and Graham Palmer. Doris was blessed to have a network of caring family, friends, and neighbors who kept in touch frequently and helped her continue living independently in her home. These kind, helpful friends greatly enhanced her enjoyment of life over the past decade. Doris was grateful for their support, and her family is deeply thankful to all who helped her over the years. Friends are invited to visit us Saturday, January 26, from 10AM-12PM followed by a memorial funeral service at the Redgate-Hennessy home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull CT.
