Edward William Grinnell, age 73, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of Catherine Caruso Grinnell, passed away Sunday April 29, 2018 at Bridgeport Hospital. Edward was the son of the late William and Florence Whitney Grinnell. Ed worked at Jenkins Brothers for 27 years as a warehouse manager, as well as a union steward. He traveled to Canada where he opened and managed a warehouse for Jenkins. After retiring, he worked at Bridgeport Machines. He was an avid New York Giants and Yankee fan, enjoyed the casinos and Jai Alai. Ed had a soft spot in his heart for animals, especially feeding the deer and squirrels. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter Teresa Grinnell and Ken Abbati of Bridgeport, a son Shaun M. Grinnell and wife Amy of Shelton, two grandsons William Edward Grinnell, whom he enjoyed spending special time with and Bobby Henry, a nephew Robert Provenzano of Bridgeport and two nieces Kim Sboros and Kelley Paton both of Florida. He was predeceased by a brother Kenneth Grinnell and two sisters Patricia L. Provenzano and Sharon L. Grinnell. Private family services will be held, with interment in Mountain Grove Cemetery.
