Eileen M. Monahan
August 24, 1962 ~ November 4, 2017 (age 55) 55 Years OldShare Tribute:
Our loving sister, Eileen Monahan, left this life suddenly on Nov. 4, 2017, to join her parents, Garry and Aimee Monahan, in eternal rest. Eileen was born in Clifton Forge, VA, but lived most of her life in Bridgeport where she had been a client at the Kennedy Center for over 40 years. She held several job positions and proudly brought home her paycheck, no matter how big or small. Most recently she enjoyed spending weekdays with her friends at the Faust program and we are grateful to the staff for their loving care. She was a past member of the Third Order of St. Francis, and the Faith and Light group at the Catholic Center. She loved watching her favorite sports teams on TV, including the Miami Dolphins, the NY Yankees, the UConn Ladies Huskies, and even cheered for the NY Mets “in honor of her Mom”. She enjoyed being a member of her duckpin bowling league, especially looking forward to dancing at the annual bowling banquet (Michael Jackson would envy her “moonwalk”)!). And, she was so proud when she became a registered voter and she exercised that right as long as she could. She’ll be missed by everyone who knew her because she brought joy to all, but she’ll be especially missed by her brothers, Paul, Greg and Chris and her “sister” Loni. In addition, she is survived by aunts, uncles and cousins in Great Britain, several cousins in the U.S. and her nephew, Garry John. All will miss you, Eileen, because you decorated our lives with your smile. Friends may greet the family Monday morning from 9:00a.m. to 10:00a.m., in the Redgate – Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00a.m., in St. Margaret’s Shrine, 2523 Park Avenue, Bridgeport. Interment will be private in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery, Derby. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Faust program, c/o The Kennedy Center, 2440 Reservoir Ave., Bridgeport, CT 06606. We are eternally grateful for the caring attention and wonderful services that were provided by the Kennedy Center staff; we could not have asked for a better environment for Eileen.
