Elizabeth C. Hamilla

November 12, 1949 ~ September 9, 2022 (age 72) 72 Years Old

Tribute

Elizabeth Cimmino Hamilla, age 72 of Bridgeport, CT, beloved wife of William Hamilla, passed away Friday, September 9, 2022, in St Vincent’s Medical Center surrounded by those she loved the most. Elizabeth was born in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Clemento and Jean Rossi Cimmino.

Elizabeth, or Betty as most know her, was adored by her mother and grandparents growing up in a multigenerational household that was filled with love and amazing Italian cooking. Betty graduated from Notre Dame of Fairfield in 1967 where she was the captain of the drum corps that she so loved during her high school years. She worked as a legal secretary for the DePiano law firm and as a secretary at the Ally and Gargano marketing firm. Betty met and married the love of her life at the age of 21 and Betty and Bill would have celebrated 52 years of marriage this November.  They raised their beautiful daughter Stacy in Monroe, CT and Stacy and her girls are the light of her life.

There was nothing more important to Betty than family. Whether related by blood or her family by choice she loved with her whole heart and those who were able to call her their best friend were beyond blessed.

Betty loved to travel and enjoyed a lifetime of summers on Martha’s Vineyard, winters skiing in Vermont, annual trips to Puerto Rico and most recently, a beautiful trip to Turks and Caicos in April.

Our Nana will be remembered as she wanted to be, with a million memories full of love, endless belly laughs, hugs with her whole heart and soul and of course her beautiful presence that would always light up the room. The unconditional and true love that she gave us all is the core of her beautiful extended family and her daughters and grandchildren will always keep that love alive.

Survivors in addition to her husband include her loving daughter Stacy DeSabella and husband Joseph of Fairfield, and two cherished granddaughters Olivia and Carly DeSabella. She would also want mentioned her beloved bonus daughter Heather Wesoloski and husband David of Fairfield, and grandchildren Craig and Emma Wesoloski and Emily Cunningham of San Diego, CA. Her niece Dana Wildman and goddaughter Whitney Wildman of Shelton, her niece Laura Cimmino Schou of Clearwater, Florida, nephew Robert Cimmino of Bristol, Rhode Island, lifetime friend Patricia Dammerman of Fairfield and her most beloved and loyal dogs Mulligan and Oliver.
