Eric James Thompson

Eric Thompson died suddenly on January 1, 2021 at his home in Hyattsville, Maryland.  He was born on February 28, 1958 in Bridgeport, Connecticut to the late Kenneth and Elizabeth Skevington Thompson.  He graduated from Trumbull High in Trumbull, Connecticut in 1976, where he played on the varsity football team.  In 1980, he graduated from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana.

He worked as a Congressional aid for many years and was a Vice President for Governmental Affairs for the Hartford Insurance Company.  Later. he worked for the National Association of Insurance Commissioners in Washington.

He is survived by his brother Kenneth Thompson of Brooklyn, New York and his aunt Judy Thompson of Lantana, Florida.  He also had five nephews and two grandnephews and two grandnieces.

Burial will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Trumbull, Connecticut.  Because of the pandemic, the family will hold a public memorial service at a later date.
