Gerald J. Buckley
September 15, 1931 ~ September 6, 2017 (age 85) 85 Years OldGerald J. Buckley, age 85 of Trumbull, son of James and Bertha passed away with dignity and in peace with his wife, son and daughter-in-law by his side Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Bridgeport, and met with God. He was the beloved husband of Marilyn Ledger Buckley for 62 years. Born and raised in Bridgeport, CT, Jerry grew up with his parents, brother and sister. He became a Staff Sargent in the U.S. Air Force serving in the Korean War. He was a graduate of Fairfield College Preparatory School, class of 1949. He received from the University of Bridgeport a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering in 1963. He also holds from the University of Bridgeport a Masters in Business Administration, 1973. Jerry and Marilyn moved to Trumbull in 1963 where he lived for 54 years. Prior to his retirement, he was a certified plant engineer (AIPE)-manager of plant engineering of Norden Systems, United Technologies Corporation. His responsibilities included management of all plant engineering operations at Norwalk, Ct, Trumbull, Ct, Melville, NY, Nashua, NH, Maryland, San Diego, CA and Santa Ana, CA. Jerry was an avid golfer at Tashua Knolls and loved skiing in Vermont, Utah and France. During his childhood he loved horseback riding. He loved his family and enjoyed cooking many delicious meals for them and his friends. Jerry is survived by his loving wife Marilyn, devoted son Jim and daughter-in-law, Jodi. He is also survived by his brother Robert Buckley and his wife Dolores, his aunt, Theresa Koziar and his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Maureen Carloni. As a devout Catholic and a patron of St. Theresa Church, he always tried his best to serve the Lord at all times. Friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 11:00am meeting directly in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main Street, Trumbull with a Mass of Christian Burial. Internment with Military Honors will be private.
