Gerard “Gerry” J. Brett, age 57, beloved husband of Debbie Mills Brett of Stratford passed away Friday, September 29, 2017 at Bridgeport Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Gerry was born in Teaneck, NJ, son of the late Edward F. and Eleanor C. Haney Brett. Gerry had a long career with private golf clubs as course superintendent until illness caused his retirement. He continued as an active member of the Moose Lodge in Stratford, especially enjoying his time leading bingo games.  In addition to Debbie, Gerry is survived by two loving step-daughters Kelley Green and husband Chris and Cori Brainard, two sisters, Mary Bonack and husband Steve, and Suzanne Brett, three brothers Edward Brett and wife Andrea, John Brett, and Timothy Brett and wife Maria, sister-in-law Sheila Prusak, two grandsons, Dylan and Devin Brainard and several nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 5 at 11 a.m. meeting directly at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 1950 Barnum Avenue, Stratford with a Mass of Christian burial.  Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Lakeview Cemetery.
