Gilberto Rafael Rodriguez, 17 of Fairfield, CT passed away on Tuesday August 2, 2022. He was born on March 30, 2005, to loving parents Gilberto and Kimberly (Pierce) Rodriguez and he was a student at Fairfield Warde High School.
Gil’s biggest passion in life was music and playing the drums. He began developing his amazing talent at the age of 10 when he began taking drumming lessons. He was a member of The School of Rock house band since eighth grade, the Fairfield Warde High School band and the jazz band. He further expanded his skills into playing the bass guitar and composing and mixing his own music. As a gifted musician he devoted himself to learning to be the best he could be. He was a natural performer and one of his favorite places to be was rocking out in front of a live audience.
When not engaged in music Gil could be found hanging out with his best buddies gaming, having sleepovers, or just hanging out in front of the fire pit. Other very special times were spent with Luna, his first true love. Gil also followed in his father’s footsteps by becoming a certified scuba diver and enjoying countless trips around the world with his family. He especially loved exploring all the zoos and aquariums fostering his incredible love of animals.
Gil is survived by his loving family including parents Gil and Kim, his paternal grandmother Maria Rodriguez, maternal grandfather John Pierce and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins as well as his beloved dogs Smokey and Shadow. He is predeceased by his grandmother Virginia (Ginny) Pierce and grandfather Gilberto Rodriguez who are now embracing him in their loving arms in heaven.
