Tribute

Howard B. Zwickler passed away October 7, 2020 with complications from Parkinson’s. He was a beloved son to Jack and Beatrice Zwickler; devoted brother to Phyllis and Ellen and the cool uncle to their children; talented percussionist (ABC Studio Orchestra, American Symphony Orchestra, Broadway and off Broadway pit orchestras, Shakespeare Theatre, New Haven, Syracuse and Bridgeport Orchestras, Schubert and Palace Theaters); inspiring teacher to hundreds of musicians and classroom teachers at University of Bridgeport ; mentor, and dedicated business manager to four Connecticut school districts- Windham, Cheshire, Milford and Fairfield; Parkinson’s Research Advocate at Institute for Neuromuscular Disease (IND), New Haven, Ct; adoring husband to Linda; proud and devoted father to Jordan (Christina) and Jared( Alicia) and excited grandfather to newborn Jack. Howard received his B.A. and M.A at Manhattan School of Music and EdD in Educational Management at University of Bridgeport. The Zwicklers would like to thank Dr. Neakya Sahay and Dr. Alice Rusk for their expertise; Dr. Guy McKahnn, Dr. Blair Ford and their team from Columbia Presbyterian who gave Howard another five years after DBS surgery in 2015; the nurses and nurses’s aids at The Springs at Watermark who took wonderful care of him and allowed our family compassionate visits for the last days. Howard’s final act was to leave his brain for study at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital at the Center for Movement Disorders. Funeral services are private.
