John L. Farrell

John L. Farrell, age 78 of Stratford, beloved husband of the late Guillaine (Dale) Farrell, passed away of natural causes on Thursday, January 7, 2021 in St. Vincent’s Medical Center. John was born in Bridgeport, son of the late Lloyd and Helen Coakley Farrell. He retired as a laboratory technician for the Ashcroft Company after many years of service. John (“Jack” to most of his friends and family) loved family, music and sports. He was quick-witted and an exceptional writer, a tribute to his love of reading and classical education. John adored his wife of 53 years, Guillaine, whose passing less than two months ago left him devastated and broken-hearted. One of his greatest passions was the time he spent with his grandsons whom he taught to play baseball, guitar, and a host of other things. Grampa John would always surprise them with a new toy or model plane from the former Blinn's Toy Store. Some of their fondest memories were of building and flying model airplanes together. John spent his last two months living with his devoted stepdaughter, Melinda, his always-faithful son-in-law, Brian Good, and his doting grandsons, Brian Jr., Daniel and Sean Good. We love him so and hope his last days were happy ones. John is survived by his sweet and loving sister, Patricia (Farrell) and stoic brother-in-law Howard Dymond, Lake Ariel, PA. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his son, Glenn R. Dale. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
