John J. Knepple Jr.

John James Knepple Jr, age 93, of Trumbull, beloved husband of the late Virginia Yerzak Knepple, died peacefully at Bridgeport Hospital on Tuesday November 22, 2022. John was born in Brooklyn, NY on April 1, 1929 to the late John Sr. and Victoria Klimas Knepple. He was the beloved father of Karen Wynne and her partner James Honis, Deborah Metz and her husband Eric, John Knepple, III and his wife Kathie, Darlene Buccieri and her husband Frank. Proud grandfather of Amy Hadeen and her husband Scott, Vincent Wynne and his husband Daniel, Frank Buccieri Jr, John Knepple, IV and his wife Haley, Daniel Knepple and great grandfather to Ryan Hadeen. John served in the US Army during the Korean War. He married Virginia "Ginny'', the love of his life on Valentine’s Day of 1954. They were married for 53 years. He was the co-owner of Superb Tool & Die in Milford, for many years. John was an avid fisherman and loved to spend countless hours on his boat fishing or out on the ice. He was a long time member of the Valley horseshoe league in Shelton, having won numerous awards and tournaments over the years. One of his favorite pastimes was bowling. He was a skilled duck pin bowler who switched over to ten pin so that he could bowl with his son John and his wife Ginny. He also loved to play golf with his friends, his neighbor John and his brother in law Ed. John enjoyed going to the casino and also playing poker with his friends. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, at 11:00a.m., meeting directly in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main Street, Trumbull, with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private for the family. Friends may call Tuesday from 4:00p.m. to 8:00p.m., in the Redgate - Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull.
