Joyce Elaine Nagem, age 80, beloved Sister, Aunt, Godmother and Friend, a woman of strong faith, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport on April 13, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Agnes (Wakin) Nagem. Joyce was a graduate of Central High School and the University of Bridgeport and worked in retail for many years. Joyce was a member of the Soroptimist organization and was a collector of many things but was most proud of her antique business she shared with her sister and dear friend. Joyce’s biggest joy in life was spending time with family and her special group of friends lovingly called ‘The Steel Magnolias’.
She is survived by her sister, Nancy Curley and eleven cherished nieces and nephews. Suzanne (Jim) Browning, Andrea (William)) Hathaway, Sheree (Mitch) Parker, Jeffrey (Christine) Curley, Michael (Darlene) Curley, James Curley, Alicia Connelly, Jill (Joe) Capra, Lisa (Rob) Blackman, John Sicilian, Edmund (Sue) Sicilian and 21 great nieces and nephews and 10 great-great nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her sister and brother in-law MaryAnn & John Sicilian, great nephew Nicholas Sicilian and brother-in-law Edward Curley, Jr.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 12 Noon meeting directly in St. Andrew Church, 435 Anton Street, Bridgeport with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Stratford. To send online condolences please visit www.redgatehennessy.com
