June Hathaway

June Marie Joy Hathaway, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late William M. Hathaway, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 17, 2019 in her home. June was born in Bridgeport on May 22,1930, daughter of the late Edward and Marie DePalma Joy and was a lifelong area resident. She began her retail career with D.M. Read’s, Jordan Marsh and Macy’s.  June enjoyed spending time traveling, bowling, reading and her time spent with family and friends.  She was a loving and compassionate mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.   Survivors include her devoted children; Joy Bower and husband Wayne of South Carolina, Robin Capra of Monroe, Brian Hathaway and wife Jackie of South Carolina, and William Hathaway and wife Andrea of Shelton, nine grandchildren; Vincent (Jessica) and Christopher (Cami) Capra, Ryan and Austin Hathaway, Matthew and Lauren Bower and Timothy, Jennifer, and Eric Hathaway, six great grandchildren, and her dearest friend Grace Casano. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00a.m., in St. Andrew Church, Bridgeport, with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., in the Redgate – Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull.
