Kerry Bevans Burke

Kerry Bevans Burke, son of the late Walter Bevans Burke and Ethel Weeks Burke, was called home by the Lord on Monday, May 17, 2021. Kerry was born in New Milford Hospital on March 29, 1960. When his family moved to Bridgeport in 1965, Kerry attended Florence E. Blackham Elementary School and later attended Bullard Havens Technical High School.  Kerry took up the carpentry and construction trades, and under the guidance of his father Walter, himself a skilled carpenter and craftsman, he started a construction career in 1981. He established Christopher Bevans Land Company with his close friend Jack, and they did many construction and repair jobs. Kerry later founded Turnkey Construction Services, which specialized in new construction, additions, general maintenance, and all facets of property repair.  Over time Kerry became a skilled artisan, and was very much in demand for his construction skills and expertise.

During his lifetime, Kerry was the “go to“ guy and right hand man to all his siblings, any time of the day or night. He was very giving, generous, well liked, and had a vast network of friends and associates who enjoyed his company.  He was an enthusiastic fan of the New York Yankees baseball team and the New York Giants football team, and was at many times personally in attendance at games with his brothers, nephews, cousins, and friends. Kerry leaves behind his beautiful, devoted daughter Bevans, his brother Tim, sister Christine, brother Jeff, sister Susan, and cousin Ellen, with whom he was very close.  He also leaves his Uncle Tom and Aunt Joan of New Hampshire, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and great friends. His humor, wit, good nature, positivity, and charisma will be greatly missed.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial at Our Lady of Assumption Church in Fairfield on Friday, May 28, 2021 at 11:00.a.m. Interment will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Stratford.
