It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Michael James Francia. Michael Francia, a longtime resident of Trumbull, most recently residing in Stratford was born August 7, 1946, and passed away Sunday, November 19, 2017. His irresistible smile, loving ways, charm and sense of humor captured the hearts of many, especially his beloved wife of 30 years Jody Valente-Francia.  He was a hero to his two sons, a dad with a prodigious heart and soul. Michael was an extremely loving devoted father of Daniel M. Francia and Andrew J. Francia. Born and raised in Bronx, NY, Michael was the son of the late Nicholas and Carmela Amoroso Francia. Michael is survived by his three siblings Richard Francia his wife Ann Marie Francia, Stephen Francia his wife Cindy Francia and his sister Paula Poisella her husband Michael Poisella. Survived by many nieces and nephews, especially Christine Valente and her three loving daughters. Uncle Mike was the world to these young ladies. Most of his life he was self-employed in real estate, banking and insurance. Most recently he worked for All Star Transportation Monroe, CT. He had an innate majestic relationship to water, free diving, scuba diving, fishing and boating. He will always be remembered by his many dear friends and cousins especially Diane, Rob, Christopher “Young Widak” and Juliana as “Captain Mike”. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, December 22, 2017, at 12:00 p.m. in St. Andrew Church, 435 Anton Street, Bridgeport, CT 06606.
